Camp Ku-ring-gai is a Scouts Australia (NSW) camp located at Holmes Drive, Ebeneezer on the western side of the Hawkesbury River between the Sackville Ferry and Lower Portland – 25 km from Windsor and 80 km from the Sydney CBD. It is located approximately 250m from the river and adjacent to a small riverside community and provides a peaceful, undisturbed retreat within a natural bush setting.
The camp is a 17 ha property able to accommodate up to 300 campers in six grassed areas screened by vegetation. The camp sites are supported by a central freestanding male/female toilet and shower block.
The camp also offers dormitory-style accommodation via a large demountable-style building. This building provides 61 beds (generally with 8 bunks to a room), a large kitchen, storage/cool room and associated dining and multi-purpose halls, boys and girls showers and toilets, a small laundry and various storage and other ancillary areas. There is also an adjacent warden’s residence.
Apart from an incoming external electrical and bottled gas supply, the camp is self-sufficient for other utilities – with tank rainwater collection supplemented by bore water, and septic sewerage systems.
